2010 LPGA Predictions, Who Didn't Make the Cut
While we all patiently await for the 2010 LPGA to kickoff next month, many of us bloggers have opted to give our 2010 LPGA Predictions. In 2009 I found myself in dead last, and with some even more audacious choices this year I wouldn't be shocked to find myself in the basement again. Over the next few days I'll be unveiling my choices for the top 30 for 2010, with a brief little blurb on the players. Feel free to check out Hound Dog, The Constructivist, and rjay's picks for 2010 also!
First up are 5 very talented ladies who just missed my top 30 list.
Se Ri Pak

The Hall of Famer had a better 2009 then she had in 2008, just finishing inside the top 30 on the 2009 LPGA Official Money list. I am rooting for Se Ri to show up all these ladies who she inspired by getting another win on tour, but she hasn't been able to get anywhere close to her dominating ways. With that said she has had two runner-up finishes in the past two years, and could easily notch a win in the upcoming season.
Lindsey Wright

Ever so quietly Lindsey Wright put in a fine 2009 finishing 18th on the money list. The Brit utilized 4 top 10s (two of which in majors) to produce her career best season in her young LPGA career. Wright had a lot of good performances, but really relied upon her runner-up finish at the McDonald's LPGA to carry her season. Without really being a heavy contender at many events last season, I see her bumping down from the top tier of the tour.
Candie Kung

If Lindsey Wright relied on her top 10s from the Kraft and McDonald's in 2009, Kung really, really relied on the U.S. Women's Open to salvage her 2009 season. Aside from her runner-up finish there, she only had one other top 10, but it was enough to snag 25th on the year-end moneylist. I thought 2009 was going to be a big year for Miss Kung after getting back in the winner's circle at the Korea event in 2008. I was wrong, and I am thinking another slip may be in the cards for Candie.
Ji Young Oh
via lpga.com
For a player who has won events in the past two years, Ji Young Oh gets very little respect. In three seasons on the LPGA Oh has two victories and 8 top 10 finishes. Over at my old website I compared her career ascent to that of Gloria Park. If that proves true, Oh won't win in 2010, and will fall from the top 30. Although if Ji Young holds form, she'll come out of nowhere one week and take home another title.
Brittany Lincicome
via lpga.com
The big hitting American came out of nowhere to snap out of her slump and win the Kraft Nabisco Championship in grand fashion in 2009. Despite following that performance up with a missed cut, and a T63, she showed her talent a few weeks later with her second top 10 of the year T6 at the Sybase. She then followed that with a T62 and two more missed cuts. Linicome is a streaky player and it can be feast or famine for her week-to-week. With the field of talent ever expanding, I'm not sure if she can maintain her spot as a top 30 player.

Lindsey Wright
Although Lindsey was born in England, she’s actually Australian. She’d be prominently mentioned as a possible member of the Euro Solheim Cup team if she was English. Anyway, she’s one of my favorites. I hope you’re wrong. 8-)
And I’m really glad you have a blog on SBN, Jamie. I’ve always enjoyed reading your stuff.
